All veneers are different. Traditional veneers are thick and require removal of a lot of tooth structure, and may require anesthesia to prepare the teeth.
We recommend and utilize minimally invasive Lumineers Veneers, which are designed to deliver a beautiful result with a simple, painless procedure.
Lumineers are digitally designed to be ultra-thin (about as thin as a contact lens) and highly translucent like natural teeth. They are applied seamlessly over your teeth to deliver a natural-looking smile. Lumineers are durable, resistant to wear and designed to last over 20 years. That’s why Lumineers is the #1 patient-requested veneer system in the world.
Once the procedure is completed, there is no post-placement recovery period or sensitivity. This means when your Lumineers are placed, they will look natural and feel comfortable from the moment they are bonded to your teeth. Some patients may be able to avoid orthodontic treatments with Lumineers by reshaping their teeth, making them look straighter and more uniform, as well as whiter.
How Does It Work?
On the first visit, we will create a precise mould of your teeth. Then you and your dentist will determine the best shade for you. After your first visit, the mould is sent off to the dental laboratory for your custom Lumineers to be created. With Lumineers, you don’t have to wear temporaries. When we receive your custom Lumineers, we check them for fit and shade. Then during your second visit, your Lumineers are painlessly applied without shots or any drilling. And you’re ready to start showing off your brand new smile to the world!
Crowns are typically used to restore a tooth’s function and appearance following a restorative procedure, such as a root canal. We may also recommend a crown to hold the tooth together when decay in a tooth has become so advanced that a large portion of the tooth must be removed. Crowns are fabricated in the dental laboratory and are usually made of a material like porcelain and then placed on the top of a tooth.
Crowns are also used to attach bridges, cover implants, prevent a cracked tooth from becoming worse, or if an existing filling is in jeopardy of becoming loose or dislocated. Crowns may also be the best option when a discoloured or stained tooth needs to be restored to its natural appearance. Crowns are sometimes confused with veneers, but they are quite different. Veneers, like Lumineers, are typically applied only to relatively small areas.
Tooth bonding is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures. Bonding is a great solution for people looking for a quick and cost-effective way to repair minor imperfections in their teeth. Dental bonding is a procedure in which a tooth coloured resin material is applied and hardened with a special light, bonding the material to the tooth and restoring and improving your smile. Bonding is that it is one of the least expensive and invasive cosmetic dental procedures. Tooth bonding is done in just one office visit.
An inlay is an indirect restoration, or filling, consisting of a solid substance filled to a cavity in a tooth and cemented in place. Inlays and onlays are known as an indirect filling because, unlike a standard filling that is done in a dentists office, both are made in a laboratory and cemented into place. One of the many great benefits of both inlays and onlays is that they are almost impossible to distinguish from a natural tooth. Additionally, they are stronger and more durable- the tooth can bear up to 50-75 percent more chewing force.
Tooth Whitening with Zoom
Nothing builds a person’s self-confidence better than a dazzlingly, bright smile. That’s why our dental team is proud to offer our patients the Zoom WhiteSpeed Light-Activated Whitening System, which delivers brilliant results. Over 10 million patients have had their smiles brightened by a Zoom treatment. We use advanced LED-light technology and variable intensity settings designed to give your smile a big boost and deliver optimum results. This safe, in-office procedure whitens teeth and may result in up to 8 tooth shades lighter in your hour appointment. This procedure requires no messy trays at home, and there is no need for the much longer application times for the desired result with your smile.
How it Works
Zoom’s LED Whitening Lamp activates hydrogen peroxide, which offers superior penetration of the tooth’s enamel, thereby lightening the tooth surface and underlying dentin. After a comprehensive oral exam by one of our dentists, the complete whitening procedure takes place during a single office visit. The whitening process starts with preparation and isolation of the teeth. Then Dr. Berzin will perform three 15-minute bleaching sessions. The dentist may opt for an additional 15-minute session to reach the desired shade level. The system also includes desensitizers to help minimize sensitivity and protect your enamel.
Most individuals seeking lighter teeth will benefit from Zoom tooth whitening. Yet treatments may vary in effectiveness among individuals. Tooth staining from the yellowing of aging, consumption of cola drinks, tea and coffee, smoking and red wine will usually achieve the greatest success with the Zoom whitening procedure. Those patients with internal staining, such as grey or greenish shading from tetracycline, fluorosis or other chemical agents may experience less dramatic results. Yet even troublesome and difficult stained teeth should expect improvement from this brief procedure. For patients with severe internal tooth stains, Dr. Berzin may recommend some home-use products to improve results. Zoom does not lighten porcelain crowns, composite fillings or some other restorative materials.
